Design and maintain large-scale cloud infrastructure for data accessibility and reliability in autonomous driving technologies. Collaborate on engineering projects and mentor junior engineers.
Team Our data platform team accelerates autonomous driving by providing access to petabytes of data collected by our fleet of autonomous and non‑autonomous vehicles. Efficient, fast and cost‑effective access to data at large scale is key to tackling the hardest problems in AD/ADAS, from developing ML models for perception and prediction to enhancing validation and simulation by identifying rare real‑world driving situations.
We use the Flyte orchestration framework, Python, AWS (S3, EKS), GCP BigQuery, ElasticSearch, and multiple cloud regions. Automation and testing are central to delivery.
Who Are We Looking For? Engineers passionate about next‑generation automotive software development with excellent communication skills, solid coding, and expertise in building scalable, reliable, highly available, fault‑tolerant and observable systems in large‑scale data and compute infrastructure.
Responsibilities
Set the technology strategy for our cloud infrastructure, factoring in AD/ADAS cloud development needs and cost optimisation targets.
Design, build, maintain, optimise and support large‑scale, multi‑region, multi‑cloud compute and storage infrastructure powering our data platform and mission‑critical services.
Work with Data Infrastructure & Site Reliability engineers to ensure our systems are scalable, reliable, fault‑tolerant, highly available, high‑performant and observable.
Manage incidents, triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve root causes and impacts on users & operations.
Collaborate with ML platform, Computer Vision and ML engineers on high‑impact projects to create innovative solutions.
Mentor junior engineers and drive best engineering practices across the organization.
Contribute to the long‑term strategy for our systems and products.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Professional software engineering experience in languages such as Python, Go, Java, C, C++.
Experience as a Software Engineer / Site Reliability Engineer with Terraform, Docker, cloud‑native technologies, networking and Kubernetes in production.
Design, deploy, monitor and maintain large‑scale, fault‑tolerant multi‑region/multi‑cloud distributed systems.
Ability to debug, optimise code, troubleshoot distributed systems and automate routine tasks.
Nice to Haves
Master’s degree in Computer Science.
Experience with data‑intensive applications, data platforms, pipelines, workflow orchestration, batch processing and/or distributed databases.
Prior monitoring and optimisation of cloud compute and storage costs.
Experience with RPC protocols and formats such as gRPC/protobuf, Apache Avro.
Experience with cloud‑based microservice architecture, event‑driven and distributed designs.
Fast‑paced environment collaboration across teams and disciplines.
Experience with data governance, privacy and security.
