Manager MAS Pre-Sales Consultants We are looking for a manager to lead a team of pre-sales professionals while actively contributing as a technical practitioner to support Emerson’s Machine Automation Solutions (MAS) across the region. The role demands a strong technical foundation combined with leadership skills to manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing team. The successful candidate will collaborate with sales teams to design automation architectures, prepare technical demos, and deliver compelling technical advantages that differentiate Emerson’s solutions from competitors.
An understanding of Industry 4.0 and emerging technologies is essential, as you will act as a trusted advisor to customers implementing innovative solutions. You will also oversee team recruitment, retention, and day‑to‑day management activities, ensuring operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Act as a trusted advisor to customers by solving challenges and providing technical demonstrations, presentations, and solution designs.
Resolve pre‑sales technical issues related to PLCs, HMI/SCADA, and associated software, and offer start‑up support for new customers.
Create and present product demos, technical workshops, informal training, and conduct plant tours and site inspections.
Develop proof‑of‑concept software, write technical articles, and represent the company at tradeshows and events.
Manage technical support cases, design and test systems, and collaborate with marketing, product management, engineering, and sales teams to align with market needs.
Report activities via CRM tools and partner with global teams for local execution.
Lead the pre‑sales team, including recruitment, mentoring, equipment management, and administrative tasks.
Who You Are You consistently apply a business driver and marketplace focus when prioritizing actions, spot future policies and trends, and adjust communication to diverse collaborators. You are a strategic partner to build, grow, and maintain profitable and long‑lasting relationships with key accounts.
Qualifications
Completed studies in Control Systems, Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics, IT, or Computer Programming.
Engineering degree (BTech, BEng, BSc, or BCom). A Master’s degree is an advantage but not mandatory.
Minimum 5 years in application engineering or systems integration, ideally within industrial automation, plus experience in team leadership or management.
Solid understanding of discrete and hybrid automation systems, including PLCs/PACs, Variable Speed Drives, Servo Motion, Safety Systems, Operator Interfaces, HMI/SCADA software, and cloud/EDGE technologies.
Pre‑sales exposure in related industries such as OT/IT, electrical, industrial or manufacturing software, MES/MIS, cloud computing, mechatronics, robotics, instrumentation, or OEM equipment is a plus.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Native or professional proficiency in English; a second European language is preferred but not essential, depending on location.
Preferred Qualifications
Proven PLC Programming experience.
Programming experience in VB, Python.
Experience with HMI/SCADA systems.
Knowledge of MS SQL.
Industrial PCs and networking.
Experience in leading or managing a team.
