The opportunity: Valcon UK is seeking an Operating Model Design Consultant to join our growing Operational Excellence capability group within our Consulting Practice. Overview of Consulting Practice: Valcon provides consulting support to help clients protect and increase their margins, optimise their operational performance and improve productivity. We work closely with clients to map their vision, define the programme to achieve it and deliver the programme successfully, using a blend of Valcon’s consulting, data and technology expertise. From large-scale transformations to specific issues, Valcon can step in at any stage of the development journey. We adapt and flex our consulting, technology and data teams to provide direction, design and delivery to get the right results. Our Consulting Practice has 5 capabilities: Transformation Delivery Project Delivery Organisation Change Operational Excellence The Role: We are seeking an experienced Operating Model Design Consultant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and refining operating models that align with client strategies and enhance operational efficiency. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to deliver tailored solutions that meet business objectives. Key Responsibilities: Defining proposal response requirements and the key storyline. Bringing outside-in best practices and trends from the market to the proposal. Shaping the overall solution – approach, team, pricing, etc. Preparing and helping lead orals as required. Supporting/leading the development of thought leadership, propositions and go-to market assets. Being an Operating model SME to support across a number of client opportunities, bringing market trends and examples to guide our clients. Leading the operating model design and implementation for clients, alongside the broader technology implementation. Experience
Operating Model and Organisation Design: Ability to present options and deliver the implementation of a strategic and/or detailed operating model design across a variety of sectors. Through a thorough review of the operating model dimensions, advising on which areas should be considered during strategic decisions. Experience in sales, business development and delivery. Working collaboratively with team members and clients to rapidly understand and define business challenges and potential solutions. Ability to shape and solve problems using a fact-based approach to drive our insight. Developing and presenting meaningful and practical insights and recommendations, based on robust evidence, and that can stand up to client scrutiny. Leading and planning the execution of overall work stream(s) necessary to the delivery of the programme in line with the appropriate methodology. Contributing to the redesign activities of how services should operate to optimise the customer experience by embracing digital capabilities. Application of relevant tools and techniques: Business architecture, capability mapping, organisation sizing, governance, role design, development of business cases, requirements gathering, customer journey mapping, process mapping, agile methodologies and lean techniques.
