Solution Architect – Retail We are looking for a seasoned Solution Architect to design and implement end‑to‑end retail technology strategies across the TCS UK & international markets. The role focuses on merchandising planning, assortment, inventory management, forecasting, replenishment, e‑commerce and retail space optimisation.
Key Responsibilities
Design and execute scalable retail technology solutions that align with business objectives.
Lead architecture of systems for merchandising, assortment, inventory, forecasting and e‑commerce platforms.
Optimise retail infrastructure including networks, servers and databases for reliability and performance.
Drive data collection, analytics and reporting to derive actionable insights for inventory, sales and customer behaviour.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (merchandising, marketing, finance, operations) to translate requirements into IT solutions.
Stay current on emerging retail technologies and assess impact on operations.
Establish security, regulatory compliance and data privacy protocols (PCI‑DSS, GDPR).
Mentor and lead technical teams responsible for retail operations technology.
Work with product vendors (BlueYonder, SAP, o9, Oracle, etc.) to design and develop required solutions.
Qualifications
Proven experience designing enterprise‑scale system integrations, ideally in supply chain, planning platforms and ERP/retail systems (SAP).
Strong data architecture knowledge, data quality, reconciliation and performance in high‑volume integrations.
Experience leading technical design discussions and driving decisions in a complex, multi‑vendor environment.
Demonstrated experience in a retail environment.
Knowledge of Agile product management tools (Jira, Jira Align).
Excellent multi‑tasking, communication and stakeholder management skills.
Experience shaping functional and non‑functional requirements for retail technology.
Familiarity with integration/message patterns and architectural styles (Microservices, Domain Driven, SOA, Event Driven, REST).
