About the Role An incredible opportunity for an experienced Backend Engineer with advanced Go skills to join a prestigious tech client on a contract basis. The client is renowned for its engineering excellence and fast‑moving, collaborative culture where autonomy, impact, and smart decision‑making are front and centre.
Responsibilities
Work on mission‑critical, data‑intensive applications that push the boundaries of technology.
Take ownership of the full software engineering lifecycle, including design, development, and implementation.
Collaborate with a product‑focused team in tight feedback loops—small pull requests, quick reviews and fast iteration.
Make independent decisions, contribute ideas, and help shape solutions that matter.
Architect and implement micro‑services‑based solutions using AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka and other modern technologies.
Support teammates by unblocking issues, sharing knowledge and refactoring where needed; maintain clear, readable code.
Qualifications
Significant professional experience in software development, with a strong focus on backend systems.
Proficiency in Go / Golang and proven expertise in AWS, Kubernetes, and Docker.
Experience with end‑to‑end software engineering, including system design and architecture.
Hands‑on experience working on complex, data‑intensive applications.
A product‑focused mindset and familiarity with working in technology‑driven organisations or start‑ups.
Hands‑on skills in Kafka, Cassandra, gRPC, and microservices architecture will also be beneficial, as well as experience contributing to open‑source projects.
