Job Description We support you settling into your new location, ensuring you are familiar with the team and receive a warm welcome from day 1. Each site has an Apprentice team member helping you progress, protecting study time and enabling digital learning and local community STEM projects.
The Apprenticeship As a Software Engineering Degree apprentice you will rotate through projects over a 3.5‑year programme, learning software engineering, the engineering lifecycle and developing practical engineering skills. You will work with experienced software engineers within Integrated Project Teams to design and test new and existing products, solving problems, generating ideas and supporting the next generation of EW products.
You will attend university on a day‑release basis to complete the Digital and Technology Solutions Professional Apprenticeship (ST0119), which includes a BSc (Hons) Digital and Technology Solutions (Software Engineer) degree. During the apprenticeship you will record learning activities and evidence to demonstrate competency in set criteria, and complete a degree project in your final year.

Grow your knowledge of an engineering business and what the role of a Software Engineer is by being part of our Integrated Project Teams.
Develop practical skills in engineering and understanding key processes and technologies.
Support early careers activities – apprentices have the opportunity to work as STEM ambassadors in schools, colleges and universities.
Qualifications and Entry Criteria This apprenticeship assumes the candidate has little professional engineering experience and is NOT suitable for candidates who already have an engineering, software or computing degree.
At least 104 UCAS points, including 2 STEM subjects (3 C's at A’ Level or T Level core pass C or equivalent qualification).
5 GCSE grades from 9‑4 / A* - C, including Maths, English and a Science.
Security Clearance This role is subject to pre‑employment screening in line with the UK Government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). An additional range of Personnel Security Controls referred to as National Security Vetting (NSV) may apply, including The Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV).
