Working with large datasets to clean, structure, and prepare data for analysis
Building end-to-end dashboards and reports using Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI tools
Creating visualisations and data stories to communicate trends, patterns, and insights
Writing SQL queries including joins, aggregations, and filtering
Supporting the development and tracking of KPIs and performance metrics
Providing analytical support to operational and project teams
Automating reporting processes where possible
Presenting insights and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders
Essential skills and experience required :
Strong proficiency in Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI tools
Advanced Excel skills including Power Query, pivoting, formulas, lookups, and data cleansing
Ability to write SQL queries confidently
Experience building dashboards from scratch
Ability to analyse large datasets efficiently
Strong understanding of KPIs, metrics, and data storytelling
Great communication skills with the ability to explain data clearly
Desirable skills and experience :
Experience within rail, highways, engineering, or asset management (not essential)
Experience working with operational or field-based datasets
Understanding of data modelling or ETL processes
