We are seeking a passionate and talented Chef to join our team in beautiful South Redondo Beach. This is an exciting opportunity to bring your culinary expertise to a vibrant, high-end setting and craft exceptional dishes that are within theme of the restaurant doing quality steak and seafood offerings.

This is a hands-on position — the Chef will be working and cooking in the kitchen daily, as we have a small, dedicated kitchen team. Your active involvement in the kitchen is essential to maintaining our high standards and creating a memorable dining experience. This is currently a dinner-only restaurant, with plans to open for brunch in the future.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead and oversee all aspects of food preparation and presentation
  • Develop and execute creative menus that reflect upscale, sophisticated cuisine along with the owner
  • Assist in all menus for private events in the private dining room.
  • Collaborate closely with the owner and management to refine dishes that align with the restaurant concept of an East Coast seafood restaurant with a French undertone
  • Ensure the highest standards of quality, consistency, and freshness in every dish
  • Supervise kitchen staff, including line cooks and dishwashers, providing training and mentorship
  • Maintain strict adherence to sanitation, safety, and health standards in compliance with local regulations
  • Manage inventory, stock levels, and ordering to control costs without sacrificing quality
  • Monitor food costs and labor to meet budget goals
  • Foster a positive, professional, and team-oriented kitchen environment

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience working in upscale dining environments
  • Some knowledge of French cuisine and techniques
  • Exceptional culinary skills with an eye for detail and presentation
  • Leadership experience with the ability to motivate and develop kitchen staff
  • Excellent knowledge of sanitation, safety, and food handling standards
  • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, cost control, and profit management
  • Creative and collaborative mindset, comfortable working closely with ownership to shape menu concepts
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
