the development of innovative embedded software solutions. You will collaborate with the technical leadership to
design,
implement,
and
support
high-quality
software
that meets current engineering standards and delivery practices**The role and overview of key responsibilities*** Development of DSP algorithms for Software Defined Radios (SDRs).* Utilise techniques in sampling and quantisation, digital filter design, multi-rate signal processing, and spectral analysis through FFT-based methods.* Design and implement efficient DSP algorithms that can be executed in either FPGA VHDL or C/C++ for embedded processing environments.* Conduct debugging and testing of algorithms and software for optimal performance in embedded systems.* Deliver fully tested and maintainable software that aligns with defined project objectives.* Produce clear and traceable design specifications for new or modified functionality.* Ensure compliance with governance policies, secure coding practices, and design review procedures.* Report progress regularly to the Embedded Software Lead and Software Engineering Delivery Manager, supporting overall team delivery goals.**About You:**We would love to hear from you if:* You are proficient in MATLAB/Simulink ideally for RF DSP algorithm development.* You are proficient in developing and debugging embedded software using C/C++.* Experience with implementation of complex designs with a focus on Digital Signal Processing using FPGA and Processor devices.* Have proficiency in using Microsoft Office for technical documentation and communication**Desirable:*** Experience in multi-process and multi-threaded software development.* Understanding of high-speed signal processing implementation on Processor devices.* Working knowledge of Microprocessors, programmable devices, DSP, FPGA, memory.* Experienced in embedded Linux environments.* Full development lifecycle experience, including requirements capture, design, implementation, testing, integration, verification and validation.* Experienced in the development of test harnesses and the design and implementation of automated tests within CI/CD environments* Experience of model-based design workflows, including automatic code generation and MIL, SIL and HIL testing methodologies, an advantage.* Familiarity with Agile practices such as Scrum and tools like JIRA* Hands-on experience with GIT/Bitbucket for version control and configuration management* Experience in configuring and maintaining CI pipelines using Jenkins or similar automation platforms* Experience of Open Component Portability Infrastructure (OpenCPI) an advantage.This would be an excellent opportunity for an individual with aspirations to develop technically with routes to Thales specialist and expert roles.**Security Clearance statement:**Due to the nature of the work that we do at Thales, many of our roles are subject to security restrictions. **This role requires you to be a sole UK National and achieve Security Clearance (SC) without any caveats.
