À propos
In every environment, reliability matters, and our clients know they can count on us to deliver work that’s safe, compliant, and to the highest standard.
Job Description As a growing business, we are now seeking our first sales manager. We are looking for a driven and technically competent Electrical Sales Manager to lead business development and accelerate growth across our key electrical installation and compliance sectors. You will play a central role in securing new electrical projects, managing client relationships, and overseeing the entire sales cycle—from initial technical engagement through to project handover. The position blends strategic sales leadership with strong electrical engineering awareness, particularly within commercial electrical fit‑out, testing, and compliance environments.
Responsibilities
Prospecting and Lead Generation: Proactively identify opportunities for electrical installation, upgrade, and compliance work. Target building owners, facility managers, consultants, M&E contractors, and main contractors while qualifying leads based on electrical scope and feasibility.
Market Analysis: Gathering market and customer information, monitoring competitor activity, identifying new markets, and providing feedback on buying trends to develop effective sales strategies.
Achieving Targets: Developing and executing a strategic sales plan to meet or exceed annual sales targets, KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), and revenue objectives.
Tendering and Quotation: Lead the full bid process, including attending technical site assessments, collaborating with the projects/estimating team to produce electrical costings, preparing detailed electrical proposals, and negotiating terms to close contracts.
Client and Stakeholder Management
Relationship Building: Develop long‑term relationships with clients, consultants, electrical wholesalers, architects, and contractors to encourage repeat business and maintain a strong presence within the electrical installation market.
Client Interface: Serve as the key point of contact for all electrical requirements—power distribution, containment, lighting, emergency lighting, data systems, and specialist equipment—ensuring technical clarity and client satisfaction throughout each project phase.
Presentations: Preparing and delivering presentations and product demonstrations to potential clients and stakeholders to position the company’s solutions effectively.
Project and Team Coordination
Project Oversight (Sales Perspective): Collaborating with estimating and operational/delivery teams to ensure that project requirements are met, completed on time and within budget, and comply with all relevant safety and regulatory standards (including NICEIC and other regulatory requirements).
Sales Pipeline and Reporting: Managing the sales pipeline using CRM (Customer Relationship Management) systems for accurate data management and forecasting, and reporting sales performance metrics to senior leadership.
Team Leadership: Success in the role will lead to the need to recruit and manage additional salespeople. Therefore, there is the potential for the role to include recruiting, training, mentoring, and motivating a team of sales representatives to ensure high performance and professional development.
In summary, this role requires a commercially sharp, technically capable sales professional with strong leadership skills and in‑depth knowledge of electrical installation, fit‑out, and compliance work.
Experience
Minimum of 4 to 6 years of sales experience in London, preferably within electrical contracting, M&E, or technical fit‑out sectors, ideally supplying services to commercial, retail, and hospitality clients.
You will bring proven experience in networking within the commercial sector, including facilities management, with a view to growing Prolec’s reputation and presence.
You will have a strong personal network of contracts and commercial relationships within key target organisations such as commercial real estate service and facilities management companies, which introductions can be made.
Demonstrable experience securing new business both as an electrical sub‑contractor and as a principal contractor on projects up to £500,000.
You will need to demonstrate a level of technical understanding or capability, which may be via qualification or experience.
