Responsibilities
Prepare designs and specifications in accordance with the Design Manual Roads & Bridges (DMRB).
Develop designs using AutoCAD, Civil3D models (as and where applicable).
Deliver work packages, progressing to managing schemes and multidisciplinary teams.
Support Project Managers in planning, programming, technical input to pricing of project briefs, proposals, deliverables and cost estimation.
Check, certify and authorise designs, documents, approvals and reports.
Manage graduate engineers and technicians to deliver work packages and coordinate engineering resources.
Collaborate with clients and key stakeholders to deliver schemes and projects.
Mentor and upskill junior staff to progress towards professional qualifications.
Prepare feasibility studies, technical reports, detailed designs and contract documents across a variety of projects.
Work with the team and other disciplines to provide an integrated service to clients.
Seek innovative solutions that achieve best value for our services.
Provide technical support and leadership where required.
Qualifications
A BEng or MEng in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) and preferably Incorporated or Chartered Engineer.
Demonstrable and significant experience in highway design in accordance with the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges and other best‑practice guidance.
Understanding of the commercial aspects of project delivery.
Extensive knowledge of relevant legislation, standards and procedures including application of departures from the standard.
NEC and/or project management experience (advantageous).
