PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Work in a small specialist team undertaking design work for large engineering projects, producing calculations, drawings and technical reports.
Gain experience in a variety of niche technical disciplines during the first year; in the second year choose two technical areas to continue your development.
Attend internal and client meetings, and undertake site and factory visits as necessary.
Support the wider team by organising extra‑curricular activities, leading social events, and engaging with industry in knowledge-sharing forums through technical lectures, talks and presentations.
Use specific software such as TEDD’s and Masterseries to carry out your role in accordance with your discipline.
As an NG Bailey Graduate
Deliver work in your area on time, to a high standard and accuracy, in line with Freedom’s quality standards, undertaking self-checks and peer checks where necessary.
Use accurate English and correct grammar in all written forms, from emails to drawings, reports, memos, method statements and calculations.
Manage your own time, completing a timesheet each week and submitting it on time.
Represent the company with professional conduct at all times, building and promoting the company’s image and reputation.
Identify and drive improvements where possible.
Manage your career and work towards professional accreditation in your chosen discipline.
Develop your professional network to support your role and development.
Build positive relationships with internal and external customers as required.
Keep a log of your activities and learning within each business area, feeding into development for each new rotation.
Opportunities may arise to work across wider departments within the Services Division, such as Commercial, Business Development, Finance, and Bid, if beneficial.
Requirements
2:2 Degree or above in Civil / Structural Engineering
GCSE English & Maths Grade 4 or equivalent/above
IT Literate – Microsoft Office products, particularly PowerPoint, Word and Excel, including PDF editors and AutoCAD drawing software.
Right to work indefinitely – we are unable to provide visa sponsorship under either the Dependent or Skilled Worker visa routes.
