WHO WE ARE Automotive Testing Expo is a global portfolio of trade shows dedicated to pre‑production automotive testing, measurement and evaluation. The show runs in Germany, North America, China, India and South Korea, bringing together the world’s leading car manufacturers, tier one suppliers and solution providers to showcase the latest cutting‑edge technologies.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR UKi Media seeks a Sales Manager responsible for managing the show’s daily sales performance and sales team. The candidate will work with the Event Director to create, execute and monitor sales strategies, ensure the financial success of the event, motivate junior staff and support senior management as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage day‑to‑day sales operations on the show and supervise junior sales staff.
Deliver personal sales targets and ensure junior team members achieve theirs.
Proactively execute the show strategy with new and existing business.
Deliver the campaign strategy defined by the Event Director, including overall numbers of exhibitors, stand sales, sponsorship inventory, yield and sponsorship revenues.
Ensure the sales plan is achieved on target, within budget, and that activity targets (outbound call volumes and face‑to‑face meetings) are met.
Support junior sales staff in developing new revenue streams and complex sales such as sponsorship.
Monitor competitors at industry events, developing strategic insights.
Run and manage the re‑book process and re‑book team.
Role‑play with junior sales staff regularly, sharing best practice and performance improvement ideas.
Maintain the prospect database, ensuring it is constantly updated and aligns with the company’s CRM policy.
Deliver high‑quality communication to prospects, exhibitors and partners, keeping the message on point.
Execute the Event Director’s business plan and brand strategy, ensuring relevance to the market and meeting visitor/exhibitor expectations.
Manage the event floor plan, identify, implement and manage profitable show features.
Maintain accurate stand and sponsorship ledgers, reconcile sales and accounting ledgers, and keep CRM sales logs up to date.
Provide monthly revenue, contribution and manpower reports and forecasts, and outline actions to achieve budget targets.
Day‑to‑day management of the sales team, brief them at the start of each power hour and set clear goals.
Set, monitor and evaluate performance targets using CRM tools, conduct annual and mid‑term staff appraisals, and coach staff including bespoke training and development.
Motivate the team and create a career progression map for promotion opportunities.
Partner with the operations team to meet or beat budget while maintaining high exhibitor and delegate experiences.
Collaborate with the marketing team to deliver the event marketing strategy, meeting visitor targets, demographics, feature content and acquisition costs.
Manage key industry partnerships and develop an exhibitor campaign strategy with the Event Director.
Foster positive relationships with key suppliers, associations, media and commercial partners.
QUALIFICATIONS
New business experience.
Exhibition experience.
Passion for motorsport.
Proficiency in Salesforce.
