Export Infrastructure: Design and Construction Project Manager MBDA is looking to recruit an experienced and professional Project Manager, with an engineering background ideally in Structural or Electrical Engineering, to join its CSS Export Infrastructure Projects Team.

British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship. All successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS).

The opportunity You will be involved in all design and construction activities from requirement capture and infrastructure programme development, to appointment and management of consultants who lead design activities, to oversight of construction and handover/acceptance phases.
Lead or participate in the collection of customer requirements and in establishing necessary in‑country laws, regulations and standards.
Translate the requirements and applicable in‑country codes and standards and harmonise those with technical and end‑user requirements to develop proposals for storage, maintenance and operations of munitions and associated systems.
Manage and deliver projects to Time, Cost and Quality (TCQ) targets.
Organise projects and establish the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Organisational Breakdown Structure (OBS), propose infrastructure solutions and associated services, authorise major decisions, validate design and site integration, and manage risks and opportunities.
Speak up and challenge projects that may be off‑track or at risk to ensure maximum customer satisfaction.
Apply best‑practice working and demonstrate safe working practices to ensure MBDA maintains its duty of care.
Participate in technical validation at gates between project phases (design, construction, etc.).
Develop and maintain the team repository of projects, good practices and harmonised methods.
Act as a source of expert advice and technical excellence for any infrastructure topic within the company.
Develop opportunities for the team to participate actively in commercial campaigns.
Contribute and involve in establishing contracts.
What we're looking for from you
Willingness to travel – the role requires frequent global travel.
Design engineering background with knowledge of Structural Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
Engineering degree qualification or higher in relevant Engineering or Construction.
Experience and good knowledge of construction contract management.
Experience leading projects through RIBA Plan of Works stages.
Ability to develop enduring relationships with the customer community and translate requirements into functional and compliant buildings.
Skill in harmonising requirements between UK regulations, in‑country regulations and technical requirements.
Ability to organise projects and establish optimal WBS and OBS.
Propose infrastructure solutions and associated services, authorise major decisions, validate design and site integration, and manage risks and opportunities.
Apply best‑practice working and demonstrate safe working practices.
Participate in technical validation at gates between project phases.
Exploit opportunities to participate actively in commercial campaigns.
Effectively communicate within MBDA and with multinational customers.
Present complex proposals simply and effectively to senior internal collaborators and/or customer organisations to gain approvals.
Lead multi‑functional project teams on new projects, including management of external consultants and main contractors, to meet programme, cost and quality requirements.
Adapt to changing and diverse workload with autonomy and resilience.
Demonstrate a positive, proactive and professional approach, even when under pressure.
