Job Description Network Engineer – Cambridgeshire Location: Occasional travel to site in Cambridge. Realistic commute from this location.
The L3 Network Engineer will cover management, maintenance and support of network infrastructure, perimeter security systems and network management platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting network and security infrastructure (LAN / WAN / WLAN / Firewalls / Application/VPN, etc.)
Troubleshooting complex network issues, identifying network bottlenecks, and implementing solutions to ensure optimal network performance
Optimizing network infrastructure to ensure maximum performance and scalability
Maintain accurate network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and inventory records
Prepare regular reports on network performance, availability, and security
Day‑to‑day patching, maintenance and operation of the above in secure environments
Continual improvement of the systems based on changing demands
Liaising with various departments within the business
Coordinating with 3rd‑party suppliers and partners to support, maintain and implement these systems
Essential Skills and Experience
Experience of enterprise LAN/WAN/WLAN management
Experience of Fortinet, HPE, Aruba
Experience of managing firewall technologies, particularly Fortinet, Cisco
Experience of network monitoring, troubleshooting and management tools
Desirable Skills and Experience
Fortinet certification
Aruba certification

Must have the right to live and work in the UK.
Due to our location, access to own transport is essential.
Must meet Security Clearance requirements if this is a requirement of the role and any offer would be conditional upon the successful candidate passing BPSS which includes a criminal record check.
This role requires participation in 24/7 On‑call, which operates on a rotational basis.
