Responsibilities
Use CAD for concept design and produce technical drawings
Operate Inventor software day‑to‑day
Conduct research, hand calculations, FEA, testing, and prototyping
Manage the full product lifecycle from concept to production
Create models and prototypes
Liaise with clients and develop solutions for design specifications
Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth delivery of projects
Maintain technical drawings and documentation
Provide technical guidance and support
Support product testing, verification, and validation
Support junior team members
Qualifications
At least 2 years of experience in a mechanical design engineering role
Experience in machinery design, hydraulics, sheet metal, and precision components
Strong 3D CAD skills – Inventor or SolidWorks
Knowledge of rotating equipment, SPM, valves, pumps, actuators, pneumatics, gauges, piping (beneficial)
Strong practical skills: hand calculations, verification, validation, FEA, testing, prototyping
Degree/HNC/HND/BTEC/NVQ/ONC or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
Experience designing products from concept to production
Ability to manage projects, meet deadlines and budgets
Ability to maintain technical documentation and BOM entry
Innovative, accurate, and passionate about design
Technically minded with problem‑solving skills
Excellent leadership and organisational skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
