We are looking for a Social Media Manager to be the voice, vision, and creative heartbeat behind our social channels. As Social Media Manager, you will steer West Ham’s daily social output, plan and deliver content, lead matchday action, and drive growth across every platform. This role will handle day‑to‑day content planning, creation, publishing, and performance optimisation, while contributing to long‑term digital strategy that strengthens fan connection locally and worldwide. Your Key Responsibilities
Content Planning
Deliver and execute a top‑tier social strategy that aligns with the Club’s vision. Own the daily schedule across Instagram, TikTok, X/Twitter, Facebook, WhatsApp and other channels. Work closely with marketing, comms, retail and partnership teams to keep messaging on point. Spot trends before they kick off and use them to drive engagement. Tailor content to each platform to win over fans and algorithms alike. Manage approval flows with senior stakeholders with professionalism and care. Creative Production
Produce standout videos, graphics, photography, captions and live matchday coverage. Lead the matchday social experience from behind‑the‑scenes build‑up to full‑time reactions. Support creative direction for Club campaigns and major moments. Collaborate with in‑house and external creatives to deliver scroll‑stopping content. Analytics & Insights
Track KPIs like reach, engagement, watch‑time and follower growth. Interpret data to improve performance and shape future strategy. Bring insights that help strengthen the global supporter experience. Leadership & Collaboration
Manage and mentor junior social media staff. Work closely with internal teams and external partners. Ensure all output meets Club policies, league regulations, safeguarding and brand standards. What You Bring To The Team
Experience running major social accounts ideally in sport, entertainment, or big brands. Ability to produce high‑quality content at pace under pressure. Strong video editing, copywriting and storytelling skills. Deep understanding of football culture, fan behaviour and breaking news cycles. Skilled in analytics tools (BlinkFire, platform insights). Adobe Photoshop and Premiere expertise. Calm, creative, and dependable in high‑visibility moments. Safeguarding Commitment
