Position Summary
The Pastry Chef oversees all pastry and dessert operations at Love, Makoto, leading menu development, production, and execution. This role blends technical excellence, creativity, and dramatic presentation to deliver a pastry program that complements and elevates our concepts.

Key Responsibilities


  • Lead, train, schedule, and supervise the pastry team.


  • Develop, test, and execute innovative desserts, breads, and specialty items aligned with Love, Makoto concepts.


  • Ensure consistency, quality, and visual excellence across all pastry offerings for dining room service and private events.


  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef and culinary leadership on seasonal menus and special features.


  • Manage inventory, ordering, and food costs while maintaining creativity and quality.


  • Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness, food safety, and regulatory compliance.


  • Mentor and inspire the pastry team, fostering growth and creativity.


  • Stay current on pastry trends and techniques to enhance the guest experience.

Qualifications


  • Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or Executive Pastry Chef in a high-volume, fine-dining environment.


  • Strong expertise in plated desserts, breads, viennoiserie, chocolate, and gelato/sorbet production.


  • Creative, detail-oriented, and guest-focused.


  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.


  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy kitchen.


  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional training preferred.
