Job Summary:
Our Madison, Wisconsin facility is seeking an experienced Inventory Control Specialist to manage and maintain the accuracy of our warehouse inventory. This role is critical for optimizing our logistics operations, minimizing discrepancies, and ensuring that our stock levels are precise. You will be responsible for implementing inventory control procedures, conducting regular audits, investigating stock variances, and ensuring the integrity of our inventory data. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and a thorough understanding of inventory management principles within a logistics context.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain inventory control procedures.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and stock variances.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Manage inventory adjustments and ensure proper documentation.
  • Ensure the accuracy of stock levels in the warehouse management system (WMS).
  • Monitor stock rotation and expiration dates for relevant products.
  • Collaborate with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure efficient material flow.
  • Implement and enforce Safety procedures related to inventory handling and storage, including appropriate PPE usage for tasks involving potential hazards or significant Lifting.
  • Generate reports on inventory status, accuracy, and shrinkage.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as an Inventory Control Specialist or in a similar role within logistics.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management principles and best practices.
  • Proficiency in WMS and other inventory-related software.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret data and generate meaningful reports.
  • Knowledge of warehouse Safety procedures.
  • Experience with audit procedures and variance investigation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be able to adhere to Safety guidelines and wear appropriate PPE when required.
