Our expanding logistics center in Atlanta, Georgia, is looking for a detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist. This critical role ensures the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory, which is fundamental to efficient operations. You will be responsible for executing cycle counts, reconciling inventory variances, and implementing strategies to maintain optimal stock levels and minimize losses. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical abilities, a keen eye for detail, and a solid grasp of inventory management within a fast-paced warehouse environment. Your work will directly impact order fulfillment accuracy, operational efficiency, and overall cost control. A commitment to safety, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is essential. Responsibilities:
- Conduct systematic cycle counts and full physical inventories.
- Reconcile discrepancies between inventory records and actual stock.
- Implement and refine inventory control procedures to enhance accuracy.
- Monitor stock rotation (FIFO/LIFO) and identify aging or obsolete items.
- Verify accuracy of incoming receipts and outgoing shipments against records.
- Work closely with warehouse associates and management to address inventory issues.
- Maintain precise inventory data within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Generate reports on inventory status, variances, and turnover.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for inventory processes.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in inventory control, stockkeeping, or a related warehouse role.
- Solid understanding of inventory management techniques and best practices.
- Proficiency in using WMS and inventory software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to perform moderate lifting, up to 30 pounds.
- Familiarity with general logistics and warehouse operations.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and the necessity of wearing PPE.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
