We are seeking a dedicated Material Handler to join our bustling warehouse in Chicago, Illinois. This role is crucial for the efficient movement of goods within our facility, ensuring seamless operations from receiving to shipping. You will be responsible for handling a variety of materials, operating equipment, and maintaining an organized and safe workspace. If you have a strong work ethic, are physically capable, and possess a keen eye for detail, this is an excellent opportunity to contribute to our Logistics team. Responsibilities include:
- Operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse machinery to move materials.
- Loading and unloading trucks and containers with incoming and outgoing goods.
- Transporting materials to designated areas for storage or processing.
- Verifying the accuracy of shipments against order documents.
- Stacking, organizing, and staging materials to maximize space and accessibility.
- Performing routine checks on equipment and reporting any maintenance needs.
- Strictly adhering to all Safety regulations and company policies.
- Assisting with inventory management, including cycle counts and stock checks.
- Maintaining a clean and hazard-free work environment.
- Communicating effectively with team members and supervisors regarding material status.
This role requires the ability to handle significant Lifting of up to 60 lbs. The use of provided PPE , such as safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots, is mandatory. A thorough understanding of warehouse safety procedures and a commitment to preventing accidents are paramount.
