We are looking for an organized and efficient Shipping Clerk to join our team in Durham, North Carolina. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately and on time. Your responsibilities will include preparing shipping labels, coordinating with carriers, verifying shipment contents, and maintaining accurate shipping records. You will work closely with our warehouse and logistics teams to guarantee the timely and secure delivery of products to our customers. A strong understanding of shipping procedures and a commitment to customer service are essential for success in this position. This role is a critical component of our overall Logistics network.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and print shipping labels and documentation.
- Verify the accuracy of outgoing shipments against orders.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers for pickup and delivery schedules.
- Package items securely for shipment, ensuring proper handling.
- Maintain organized shipping records and tracking information.
- Communicate with customers regarding shipment status when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with all Safety regulations in the shipping area.
- Proper use of PPE , especially when handling different types of freight.
- Assist with loading and unloading of trucks as needed.
- This role requires some manual handling and Lifting of packages.
- Identify and report any damages or discrepancies in outgoing shipments.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of the warehouse operations.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in a shipping or logistics role preferred. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Familiarity with shipping software and procedures. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds.
