We are seeking a strong and dependable Material Handler for our Atlanta, Georgia facility. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for moving, organizing, and managing materials within the warehouse to support our logistics operations. Your duties will include loading and unloading trucks, stocking inventory, and ensuring materials are readily available for production and shipping. Safety is our top priority, and all employees are expected to adhere to strict safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This role is essential for maintaining an efficient and organized warehouse environment.
Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from trucks, trailers, and shipping containers.
- Transport materials to and from storage areas using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment.
- Organize and stock materials in designated locations, ensuring proper inventory management.
- Assist with cycle counts and inventory verification.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, free from hazards.
- Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including mandatory PPE usage.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and meet operational goals.
- Identify and report any damaged materials or safety concerns.
- Participate in ongoing training related to material handling and logistics best practices.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and inventory management.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, and walking.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to all guidelines, including PPE.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Reliable and punctual.
