We are seeking a skilled and reliable Forklift Operator to join our dynamic logistics team in Washington, D.C. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts safely and efficiently to move, stack, and retrieve materials within the warehouse. This role is crucial for maintaining smooth warehouse operations and ensuring timely order fulfillment. You will be working in a fast-paced environment, contributing to the overall success of our supply chain operations.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to load, unload, and move palletized goods.
- Perform pre-operation inspections of forklifts to ensure they are in good working order and report any issues.
- Accurately pick, pack, and stage orders for shipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring aisles are clear and materials are properly stored.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with inventory counts and stock rotation as needed.
- Collaborate with warehouse team members and supervisors to achieve daily operational goals.
- Maintain awareness of surroundings to prevent accidents and ensure the safety of colleagues.
- Ensure all Lifting requirements are met safely and efficiently.
- Participate in regular safety training sessions and contribute to a culture of safety.
- Understand and follow all logistics and shipping/receiving procedures.
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator with a valid certification.
- Ability to operate various types of forklifts.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to PPE requirements.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
