Mantech seeks a motivated, career, and customer-oriented Systems Administrator to join our team at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton, Washington. This is an onsite position. This position plays a key role in providing IT support for our growing vCenter environment and various Windows-based technologies, ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of our systems while supporting mission-critical operations. This is part of a dynamic environment that has opportunities for technical growth and innovation. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Create virtual machines (VMs) & virtual networks and deploy ESXi hosts for vSphere 8.x and 9.x Manage the installation and integration of hardware, system fixes, updates, and enhancements Provide IT systems support for a wide range of Windows & Linux based technologies, including Microsoft Server 2016/2019/2022, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8/9, DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, and Group Policy Editor Troubleshoot and resolve complex or non-routine issues Write and maintain documentation for supported services, processes, and configurations Maintain relationships with customers with diverse needs and offer solutions tailored to their requirements Review, plan, test, and implement Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIGs) Provide recommendations for system improvements and troubleshooting Work closely with other IT professionals, contractors, and vendors to optimize the operational capabilities of the systems Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related scientific discipline with 2+ years of IT experience, particularly in IT system administration or related fields. An Associate's degree with 4+ years or a High School Diploma with 6+ years of Systems Support/Administration experience may be accepted in lieu of degree Must possess an active IAT II Cybersecurity Workforce IA Certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CISSP, CCNA Security, CySA+, etc.) Must have or be able to obtain an Operating System Certificate (e.g., Azure Administrator Associate) within 6 months of hire Preferred qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates holding a VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certification, specifically VCP-DCV (Data Center Virtualization) or VCP-VCF (Cloud Foundation) Familiarity with the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program (NNPP) and the protection of Navy Nuclear Propulsion Program Information (NNPI) Experience with troubleshooting and resolving hardware/software interoperability issues Proficiency in operating within a large-scale and complex IT environment Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Clearance requirements: Must have a current/active DOD Secret security clearance and be willing and able to obtain a Top-Secret security clearance Physical requirements: Ability to remain stationary for 50% of the time Occasional movement within the office for communication and accessing resources Occasionally lift materials or office equipment up to 25 lbs
