We are actively recruiting for a Material Handler position at our busy facility in New York City, New York! This role is essential for the efficient functioning of our warehouse operations, focusing on the safe and timely handling of materials. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for a range of duties including receiving goods, operating material handling equipment, stocking inventory, and preparing items for shipment. Your primary focus will be on ensuring accuracy and efficiency while maintaining the highest standards of Safety . This includes strict adherence to all company safety policies, procedures, and the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The job requires physical strength and stamina, involving frequent Lifting of items up to 60 pounds, as well as extensive standing, walking, and bending throughout the shift. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse machinery safely and effectively.
- Receive, unload, and process incoming inventory.
- Store materials in appropriate warehouse locations.
- Pick and pack orders accurately for dispatch.
- Load and unload delivery vehicles.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through proper record-keeping.
- Ensure the warehouse environment is clean, organized, and safe.
- Comply with all Safety regulations and use required PPE at all times.
- Report any safety concerns or equipment issues promptly to management.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet operational demands and support Logistics objectives.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse capacity is required.
- Proven ability to operate material handling equipment safely.
- Must be able to perform frequent Lifting (up to 60 lbs).
- Understanding of warehouse operations, inventory control, and Logistics best practices.
- Strong commitment to workplace Safety and proper use of PPE.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced urban environment.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
