Job Summary:
Our Des Moines, Iowa facility is seeking a meticulous Receiving Clerk to join our logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate and efficient processing of all incoming shipments. This includes receiving goods, verifying quantities against purchase orders, inspecting for damage, and properly documenting all inbound logistics. Your attention to detail is critical to maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring that our operations run smoothly. You will work closely with carriers and internal departments to resolve any discrepancies. Maintaining a safe and organized receiving area is a priority, and all employees are required to adhere to safety guidelines and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). This position involves regular lifting and requires the ability to stand for extended periods. Responsibilities:
  • Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments.
  • Verify quantities and descriptions of goods against purchase orders and packing slips.
  • Document all inbound shipments accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Identify and report any discrepancies, damages, or shortages.
  • Tag and label incoming inventory appropriately.
  • Organize and stage received goods for put-away or further processing.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized receiving area.
  • Adhere to all warehouse safety policies and procedures, including the use of PPE.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors, carriers, and internal staff.
  • Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in receiving, warehouse operations, or logistics is preferred.
  • Ability to perform regular lifting (up to 30 lbs).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and verification.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Understanding of warehouse safety practices and the importance of PPE.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliability and punctuality.
