We are seeking an organized and meticulous Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team in Houston, Texas. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of all outgoing shipments. Responsibilities:
- Prepare shipping documents, including bills of lading and manifests.
- Verify order details against products being shipped.
- Package items securely and appropriately for transit.
- Label shipments accurately with all necessary information.
- Coordinate with carriers to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and logs.
- Communicate with internal teams and external customers regarding shipping status.
- Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and company policies.
- Follow all safety guidelines, including the proper use of PPE, to ensure a safe working environment.
- Support the overall logistics flow of goods.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar logistics role is required.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and computer systems.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to perform lifting of up to 30 pounds.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with various shipping carriers and methods.
- Understanding of basic warehousing and logistics principles.
- Commitment to safety and the use of PPE.
