We are hiring a dedicated Forklift Operator to join our operations in Des Moines, Iowa. This position is essential for the smooth functioning of our warehouse and logistics processes. You will be responsible for operating forklifts to move, stack, and organize materials, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all tasks. Safety is paramount in this role, and a strong commitment to following protocols is required.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate various types of forklifts to move inventory within the warehouse.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and into racking systems.
- Transport materials to and from production, shipping, and receiving areas.
- Perform routine checks on forklifts and report any maintenance needs.
- Maintain accurate records of material movement.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with company safety policies and procedures, including strict adherence to PPE requirements.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of obstructions.
- Assist with inventory counts and other warehouse tasks as needed.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification is required.
- Demonstrated experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or industrial setting.
- Ability to perform lifting tasks up to 60 pounds.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse safety standards and best practices.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and situational awareness.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and operate machinery for extended periods.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong sense of responsibility.
- Commitment to following all safety guidelines and using appropriate PPE.
- Understanding of basic logistics principles.
