We are looking for a diligent Shipping Clerk to manage the outgoing shipments at our facility in Sacramento, California. This role is essential for ensuring that all orders are correctly documented, packed, and dispatched in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills and a meticulous approach to handling shipping paperwork and preparing goods for transit. You will be responsible for coordinating with carriers, maintaining shipping supplies, and ensuring compliance with all shipping regulations. Your accuracy and efficiency directly contribute to our logistics success and customer satisfaction. We emphasize a safe and organized workflow to prevent errors and delays. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process all outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy in order details and destinations.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Inspect outgoing merchandise for damage and ensure proper packaging.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and generate necessary documentation.
- Manage shipping supplies and reorder as needed.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including proper lifting techniques and the use of PPE.
- Keep the shipping area clean, organized, and safe.
- Operate shipping equipment such as scales and label printers.
- Assist with receiving duties as needed.
- Support the logistics team in achieving operational goals.
- Previous experience as a shipping clerk or in a related logistics role.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Proficiency in using computers and shipping software.
- Understanding of shipping carrier requirements and procedures.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to lifting guidelines.
- Good communication skills.
- Experience with safety best practices is highly valued.
