We are looking for a skilled Material Handler to join our team in Durham, North Carolina. In this role, you will be responsible for the movement of materials throughout our facility, ensuring that inventory is properly managed and accessible. This is a key position within our **logistics** department, requiring efficiency, accuracy, and a strong commitment to **safety**. The Material Handler plays a crucial role in maintaining workflow and supporting production and shipping operations. Your understanding of material handling equipment and adherence to **safety** protocols, including the use of **PPE**, are essential. The role involves significant physical activity, including **lifting** and maneuvering materials.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to move goods.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Verify incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with cycle counts.
- Ensure all materials are stored properly and safely.
- Adhere strictly to all company **safety** policies and procedures.
- Properly use all required **PPE**, including hard hats, safety glasses, and vests.
- Assist with **lifting** and transferring of materials, some weighing up to 60 lbs.
- Contribute to the efficiency and organization of the **logistics** operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar role.
- Valid forklift operator certification preferred.
- Ability to **lift** and move materials weighing up to 60 lbs.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse **safety** regulations.
- Proficiency in using material handling equipment.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Must wear all designated **PPE** consistently.
- Familiarity with **logistics** and supply chain processes is beneficial.
