Our Columbus, Ohio facility is seeking a dedicated Shipping Clerk to join our vital **logistics** team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing outgoing shipments accurately and efficiently. Your duties will include verifying orders against shipping manifests, packaging items securely for transit, creating shipping labels, coordinating with carriers, and loading trucks. A meticulous approach to detail and a strong commitment to **safety** are essential. You will operate warehouse equipment and must consistently wear appropriate **PPE**. This position involves some **lifting** and requires the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Your accuracy in shipping directly impacts customer satisfaction and the smooth operation of our **logistics** network. Responsibilities:
- Verify outgoing orders against shipping documents and manifests.
- Package products securely and appropriately for shipping.
- Generate and affix shipping labels accurately.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Load outgoing shipments onto trucks.
- Maintain accurate shipping records within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Ensure the shipping area is clean, organized, and **safety**-compliant.
- Adhere to all **PPE** requirements and company **safety** guidelines.
- Perform **lifting** and moving of packages as required, up to 40 lbs.
- Support the overall **logistics** operations through efficient shipping processes.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a shipping or warehouse role is preferred.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and WMS.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical ability to perform tasks including standing, walking, and **lifting** up to 40 lbs.
- Commitment to workplace **safety** and proper **PPE** usage.
- Basic understanding of **logistics** and shipping procedures.
