Our busy San Francisco, California location is looking for a meticulous Shipping Clerk to manage our outgoing shipments. This critical role ensures that all orders are processed, documented, and dispatched accurately and on time. You will be responsible for preparing shipping labels, verifying shipment contents, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining shipping records. The ideal candidate is organized, efficient, and possesses strong communication skills. A good understanding of shipping procedures and logistics is highly beneficial. We prioritize a safe working environment and expect all employees to adhere to strict safety protocols, including the mandatory use of PPE. - Receive, inspect, and log all outgoing shipments.
- Accurately prepare shipping labels and documentation for all packages.
- Verify shipment contents against order details.
- Coordinate with various shipping carriers for pickup and delivery schedules.
- Maintain organized shipping records and files.
- Operate shipping equipment, such as scales and printers.
- Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and company policies.
- Assist with loading and unloading shipments as needed, adhering to safe lifting practices.
- Utilize appropriate PPE to ensure personal and team safety.
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar logistics role.
- Proficiency with shipping software and documentation.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of shipping carrier systems is a plus.
- Physical ability to handle moderate lifting (up to 30 lbs).
- Commitment to maintaining a safe workspace and utilizing required PPE.
