Our Richmond, Virginia location is seeking a certified Forklift Operator to join our dedicated warehouse team. This position is responsible for operating forklifts and other powered industrial equipment to move, load, unload, and stack materials within our facility. Safety is our top priority, and this role requires an individual who is highly skilled, safety-conscious, and efficient. You will play a vital role in our logistics operations, ensuring the smooth movement of goods and maintaining accurate inventory placement. We are committed to providing a secure workplace.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks safely and efficiently to transport materials.
- Load and unload materials from trucks, trailers, and other vehicles.
- Stack and store materials in designated warehouse locations, following inventory control procedures.
- Perform daily inspections of forklifts and other equipment, reporting any maintenance or safety issues.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and stock rotation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, particularly those related to safety and logistics.
- Ensure compliance with all federal and state safety regulations.
- Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Support the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the logistics department.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification is mandatory.
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach truck).
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and climb for extended periods.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, safety procedures, and logistics.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends if needed.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and following all safety rules.
- Must wear all designated PPE.
