Our Columbus, Ohio distribution center is looking for experienced and certified Forklift Operators to join our growing team. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials within the warehouse. This includes loading and unloading trucks, moving inventory to and from storage locations, and staging goods for shipment. You will operate various types of forklifts and other material handling equipment. Adherence to strict safety protocols is paramount in this role to ensure the well-being of yourself and your colleagues. A keen understanding of warehouse operations and a commitment to maintaining a secure work environment are expected.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move, stack, and retrieve materials.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper weight distribution and securement.
- Transport inventory to and from designated storage areas.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on forklift equipment.
- Identify and report any damaged goods or equipment malfunctions.
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures, including wearing appropriate PPE.
- Assist with inventory counts and other warehouse tasks as needed.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of our logistics operations.
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and OSHA regulations.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Experience with RF scanners is a plus.
- Understanding of logistics flow.
