Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to move, stack, load, and unload materials.
- Conduct daily inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Transport goods from receiving to storage areas and from storage to shipping docks.
- Accurately track inventory movements using warehouse management systems or scan guns.
- Ensure that all stored materials are organized and secure.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including strict adherence to PPE requirements.
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing of loads.
- Participate in inventory control activities, such as cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to optimize workflow and maintain efficient logistics.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment around forklift operating areas.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification (e.g., OSHA-compliant).
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts in a warehouse setting.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and good spatial awareness.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Must be reliable and punctual.
- Understanding of general logistics and material handling principles.
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
