Our Houston, Texas facility is looking for a skilled Warehouse Technician to maintain and repair our material handling equipment and assist with general warehouse upkeep. This role requires a technical aptitude and a dedication to ensuring the smooth and safe operation of our distribution center. You will be responsible for preventative maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and supporting the logistics team in maintaining operational efficiency. A keen eye for detail and adherence to safety standards are paramount.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and conveyor systems.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues.
- Conduct regular safety inspections of all equipment.
- Maintain an inventory of spare parts and order replacements as needed.
- Assist in the assembly and installation of new equipment.
- Support the logistics team with operational tasks as required.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety regulations and company policies, including the proper use of PPE.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.
- Respond to emergency equipment breakdowns promptly.
- Contribute to a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the warehouse environment.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; Technical certification in mechanics or electronics preferred.
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician or similar role, preferably in a logistics or warehouse setting.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Experience with a variety of tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the job, including lifting up to 60 lbs and working in various environmental conditions.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A strong commitment to workplace safety and operational excellence is expected.
