We are looking for a diligent and organized Shipping Clerk to join our team in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This role is central to our **logistics** operations, ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with company and carrier standards. The Shipping Clerk will be responsible for preparing shipping documentation, coordinating with carriers, verifying shipment contents, and maintaining shipping records. A strong understanding of **safety** protocols and the correct use of **PPE** is paramount in this position. The ability to perform moderate **lifting** and handle packages of various sizes and weights is also required. You will be a key point of contact for our shipping partners and will contribute to maintaining our reputation for reliable delivery. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process all outgoing shipment documentation, including bills of lading, shipping labels, and customs forms.
- Coordinate with freight carriers to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Verify that all outgoing shipments match order specifications, checking for accuracy in item count and product type.
- Inspect packages for damage before shipment and report any issues.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and filing systems.
- Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and company **safety** policies.
- Operate shipping dock equipment, such as pallet jacks and shrink wrap machines.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments (e.g., warehouse, customer service) regarding shipment status.
- Adhere strictly to **PPE** requirements and warehouse **safety** procedures.
- Assist with **lifting** and moving packages up to 50 lbs as needed for loading and unloading.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of the **logistics** chain.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in a related field a plus.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or **logistics** preferred.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and carrier portals.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to **lift** up to 50 lbs.
- Knowledge of **safety** procedures and proper use of **PPE**.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations.
