Our Des Moines, Iowa facility is seeking a meticulous and organized Receiving Clerk to join our logistics team. As a Receiving Clerk, you will be the first point of contact for incoming goods, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation. Your role is vital in maintaining inventory integrity and supporting the smooth flow of operations. You'll be responsible for inspecting deliveries, verifying quantities against purchase orders, and directing goods to their appropriate locations within the warehouse.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments for damage and discrepancies.
- Verify quantities and types of goods against purchase orders and shipping manifests.
- Accurately document all received items into the inventory management system.
- Tag and label incoming goods for proper identification and tracking.
- Organize and stage received materials for distribution to various warehouse departments.
- Communicate with vendors and internal staff regarding delivery issues or discrepancies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Support overall logistics operations by ensuring efficient receiving processes.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a receiving or warehouse environment is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and verification.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 40 lbs.
- Proficiency with basic computer applications and data entry.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and logistics principles.
- Commitment to workplace safety and the use of appropriate PPE.
