Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for logistics? Our San Diego, California facility is looking for an experienced Shipping Clerk to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with all shipping regulations. Your duties will include processing shipping orders, accurately packing and labeling merchandise, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining shipping documentation. This position is key to our customer satisfaction and operational success. We are committed to a safe working environment, and adherence to all safety procedures, including the use of required PPE, is non-negotiable.
Responsibilities:
- Process all outgoing shipments accurately and efficiently.
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment according to specifications.
- Generate shipping labels and documentation for various carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, USPS, LTL).
- Verify accuracy of order contents against shipping documents.
- Load shipments onto outgoing trucks, ensuring proper handling and securing of goods.
- Schedule and coordinate pick-ups with shipping carriers.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping area.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Track shipments and provide updates as needed.
- Assist with inventory management and stock counts as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar logistics role.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and carrier portals.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and order processing.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, and walking.
- Understanding of shipping regulations and best practices.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
