This position is a full-time on-site opportunity based in Winnipeg, MB.
Hours: Monday - Friday 8AM - 5PM.
Summary: Reporting directly to the Group Controller, with a functional line into the Chief Financial & Information Officer, the Intermediate Accountant oversees general ledger functions, prepares financial reports, and conducts detailed analyses. Responsibilities include reconciling account balances, maintaining accuracy in financial documents, and assisting with audit preparations, as well as, full cycle accounting functions for Reesink Canada Holdings as the parent and holding company for several operating companies in Canada.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Full cycle accounting for parent/holding company.
  • Perform month-end close procedures, including preparing and posting journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and preparing financial statements.
  • Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
  • Preparation and dissemination of various reporting to management; including assisting with development of new reporting.
  • Assist with external audits and tax filings.
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide explanations for discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
  • Communicate with various departments and operating companies to obtain necessary information for accounting processes and reporting.
  • Contribute to process improvements and implementation of new accounting systems.
  • Quarterly & Annual Environmental Reporting.
  • Assist with proactive monitoring of key accounting areas such as Inventory, Accounts Receivable, cashflow and lending.
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects and all other tasks as needed.

Education, Experience, Skills & Competencies:
  • Degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • CPA designation or working towards (preferred).
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in a financial accounting role.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to communicate ideas clearly.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with a team.
  • Professional written and oral communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • QuickBooks experience would be an asset.
  • IntelliDealer/CDK Experience would be an asset.
  • Dealership experience is an asset.
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada.
