We are looking for an
QA/ Automation Developer
for a
4-month contract position, with possible extensions
in
Calgary, Alberta.
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
This position is on-site in downtown Calgary.
Role Description
The ideal candidate will deliver automated tests and manual tests and other software quality tasks assigned by project
team.
Responsibilities
- Perform both automated and manual tests and verify bugs as part of an Agile Scrum team.
- Develop automated tests (UI, API, e2e, Performance) and integrate into a CI/CD environment.
- Build and maintain our growing automation test infrastructure using tools such as Jest and Playwright.
- Write high-quality automation testing code that is clean, readable and maintainable.
- Develop efficient, readable and sustainable code following Company coding best practices and standards.
- Work with technical leads to conduct root cause analysis of issues, review new and existing code and/or perform unit testing.
- Investigate areas for improvement (test case maintenance) in existing Test Automation Suite and subsequently develop these modifications.
- Participate in the introduction of emerging technologies and development tools under the guidance of enterprise architects and technical leads.
- Compile timely, comprehensive, and accurate documentation as requested by project teams.
- Assist with application support tasks as required
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related discipline
- 5 years of Test Automation experience, with hands-on experience building automation testing infrastructure and test harnesses.
- Knowledge and experience creating test automation scripts using
Playwright, Jest, JavaScript, Python
and
Selenium. - Strong understanding and experience with an agile software development life cycle.
- Self-disciplined, self-motivated with strong attention to detail and technical accuracy.
- Experience working with modern web applications, and are familiar with technologies such as JavaScript, ReactJS, , Jenkins, Docker, Azure, Jira, GitHub and architecture styles such as Microservices.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with other software developers, practice leads, solution architects, and other members of the project team.
- Strong analytical skills with a passion for finding root cause solutions to complex problems.
- Ability to quickly learn new concepts, and technologies with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Determined to deliver products on time, according to pre-established quality standards
