Seeking a detail-oriented Receiving Clerk to join our busy logistics operations in Portland, Oregon! As a Receiving Clerk, you will be responsible for the accurate and efficient processing of all incoming goods. This includes unloading shipments, verifying contents against orders, inspecting for damage, and maintaining precise inventory records. A commitment to accuracy, organization, and safety is essential for success in this role. You will be a key player in ensuring the integrity of our inventory and the smooth flow of materials within our warehouse.
Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming freight from delivery vehicles safely and promptly.
- Verify received items against purchase orders, packing slips, and other relevant documentation.
- Inspect all shipments for damage, shortages, or discrepancies; report any issues immediately.
- Accurately input received goods into the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Label and stage incoming inventory for put-away or further processing.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment as needed, following all safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with vendors, carriers, and internal departments regarding receiving matters.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Participate in regular inventory audits and cycle counts.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a receiving, warehouse, or inventory control role is preferred.
- Familiarity with WMS or similar inventory tracking software.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and verification.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Understanding of basic logistics principles.
- Commitment to workplace safety and proper PPE usage.
