We are seeking a meticulous and organized Inventory Control Specialist to join our dynamic logistics team in San Diego, California. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, conducting regular cycle counts, and ensuring the overall integrity of our warehouse stock. This role is crucial for optimizing warehouse operations, reducing discrepancies, and supporting efficient order fulfillment. You will work closely with warehouse staff, supervisors, and management to implement best practices in inventory management. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety are paramount.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular physical inventories and cycle counts to verify inventory accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between system records and physical stock.
- Implement and maintain inventory control procedures and policies.
- Monitor stock levels and identify items for replenishment or disposal.
- Track and report on inventory aging and turnover.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of all inventory items, adhering to safety guidelines.
- Operate warehouse equipment as needed, ensuring safe operation and compliance with PPE requirements.
- Collaborate with the logistics team to forecast inventory needs and manage stock rotation.
- Assist in the training of new warehouse personnel on inventory procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized inventory storage area.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in inventory control or warehouse management.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Knowledge of logistics and supply chain principles.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety protocols.
- Familiarity with PPE usage and warehouse safety standards.
