We are seeking an energetic and reliable Order Picker to join our distribution center in Durham, North Carolina. As an Order Picker, you will be instrumental in fulfilling customer orders by accurately locating, retrieving, and preparing products for shipment. This role is a cornerstone of our logistics operations, directly impacting customer satisfaction through timely and accurate order fulfillment. You will utilize handheld scanners and our warehouse management system (WMS) to navigate the facility, identify the correct items, and ensure that the products picked match the orders precisely. This position requires physical stamina, as you will be on your feet for extended periods, walking and moving throughout the warehouse. A strong emphasis is placed on accuracy and efficiency to meet picking quotas. Adherence to all safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is mandatory to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues. You may be required to lift items up to 50 lbs. Experience with pallet jacks or other material handling equipment is a plus. Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick items for customer orders using a handheld scanner and WMS.
- Locate and retrieve products from warehouse shelves and storage locations.
- Verify picked items against order details to ensure accuracy.
- Stage picked orders for packing and shipment.
- Maintain an organized and clean work area.
- Adhere to all warehouse safety rules and regulations, including proper use of PPE.
- Meet or exceed daily picking productivity goals.
- Report any inventory discrepancies or equipment issues to supervisors.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned, such as stocking or cycle counts.
- Perform lifting of products up to 50 lbs as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as an Order Picker or in a warehouse environment is preferred.
- Ability to read and understand order pick lists and product labels.
- Proficiency with handheld scanners and basic computer skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly.
- Understanding of safety procedures and the use of PPE.
- Good time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with logistics and warehouse operations.
