We are seeking an organized and meticulous Receiving Clerk to join our team in Huntsville, Alabama. This role is essential for managing the accurate intake of all incoming inventory and materials. You will be responsible for greeting delivery drivers, unloading shipments, meticulously verifying contents against purchase orders and packing slips, inspecting for damage, and ensuring all items are properly logged into our inventory system. Accuracy and efficiency are key to this position, as it directly impacts inventory levels and subsequent order fulfillment. We are committed to your well-being and provide thorough training, including proper Lifting techniques and the mandatory use of PPE , to ensure a safe and productive work experience. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity within the Logistics sector.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments from various carriers.
- Verify product counts and descriptions against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect goods for damage, shortages, or discrepancies and report findings.
- Accurately enter receiving data into the inventory management system.
- Tag and label received items for proper storage.
- Stage received goods for internal distribution or put-away.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Adhere to all company Safety regulations and procedures.
- Assist with inventory control and cycle counts as needed.
- Properly operate pallet jacks and other receiving equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in receiving, inventory control, or a similar warehouse role is beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic computer proficiency and experience with inventory management software is a plus.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, walking, and Lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
- Willingness to wear required PPE , such as safety vests and gloves.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Understanding of basic warehouse Logistics and Safety procedures.
