Job Summary:
Our Minneapolis, Minnesota distribution center is seeking a highly organized and analytical Inventory Control Specialist to join our logistics team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our inventory data, ensuring that our stock levels are precise and our warehouse operations run smoothly. Your duties will include conducting regular cycle counts, investigating inventory discrepancies, implementing process improvements, and managing stock rotation. A strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and a meticulous approach to detail are essential. Your work directly impacts our efficiency and customer satisfaction. Safety is paramount, and you must be committed to upholding all safety standards and utilizing appropriate PPE.
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Implement and manage inventory control procedures and policies.
  • Monitor stock levels, ensuring optimal quantities and identifying slow-moving or obsolete items.
  • Oversee stock rotation (FIFO/LIFO) to minimize spoilage and obsolescence.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
  • Collaborate with operations, shipping, and receiving teams to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Ensure the warehouse is organized, and stock is properly located.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, including the use of PPE.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field is a plus.
  • Proven experience as an Inventory Control Specialist or in a similar inventory management role.
  • Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 30 lbs, standing, and walking for extended periods.
  • Understanding of logistics, supply chain management, and inventory control principles.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and the importance of PPE.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
