We are seeking a skilled and dependable Forklift Operator to join our dynamic logistics team in Los Angeles, California. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. This role is crucial to our warehouse operations, ensuring the smooth flow of goods. Responsibilities include loading and unloading trucks, picking and staging orders, and performing daily equipment inspections to ensure optimal performance and safety. Adherence to all company policies and safety procedures is paramount. This position requires a strong understanding of warehouse operations and material handling. Attention to detail is essential for maintaining inventory accuracy and preventing damage to goods. You will work closely with other warehouse staff to achieve daily production goals and contribute to a positive and productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach truck) to move pallets and materials throughout the warehouse.
- Load and unload trailers with incoming and outgoing freight.
- Accurately pick and stage orders for shipment.
- Conduct daily pre-operation checks on forklifts and report any malfunctions or damages immediately.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring aisles and safety exits are clear.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock rotation as needed.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Follow all company policies and procedures related to warehouse operations and material handling.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge in logistics and safety.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient warehouse workflow and meet operational targets.
Requirements:
Must have a valid forklift certification and at least 1 year of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse setting. Proven ability to handle the physical demands of the job, including regular Lifting of up to 50 lbs. Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and protocols. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Must be reliable and have a strong work ethic. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus. Commitment to safety is a must.
