We are seeking a diligent Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team in Houston, Texas. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately preparing and processing outgoing shipments, ensuring they meet all company and carrier requirements. Your duties will include verifying order details, selecting appropriate packaging materials, weighing and labeling packages, and coordinating with shipping carriers. A meticulous approach to accuracy and a strong understanding of shipping procedures are essential. You will play a vital role in ensuring that our customers receive their orders correctly and on time. This position requires excellent organizational skills, the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to safety. Proper use of PPE and adherence to all safety guidelines are mandatory. Familiarity with shipping software and documentation is a significant advantage. Responsibilities:
- Prepare shipping labels and documentation accurately.
- Package products securely for shipment, selecting appropriate materials.
- Weigh and measure packages for shipping.
- Verify order contents against shipping manifests.
- Schedule and coordinate pick-ups with various shipping carriers.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and wear required PPE.
- Track shipments and resolve any shipping issues.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of the logistics department.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or logistics preferred.
- Proficiency with shipping software (e.g., UPS WorldShip, FedEx Ship Manager).
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Knowledge of shipping regulations and best practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to following safety procedures and wearing PPE.
