We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to join our dynamic logistics team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In this critical role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, conducting cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and implementing process improvements to enhance overall warehouse efficiency. Your expertise will ensure that our inventory levels are precise, supporting seamless operations and timely order fulfillment. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a strong understanding of inventory management principles within a fast-paced warehouse environment. You will work closely with warehouse staff, supervisors, and management to identify and resolve stock issues, reconcile variances, and contribute to a culture of operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of accuracy. Experience with WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) is highly preferred. Your role is vital to the smooth functioning of our distribution network, impacting customer satisfaction and operational costs. We emphasize a strong commitment to safety and expect all team members to adhere to strict safety protocols. Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory at all times. This role involves regular Lifting of items up to 30 lbs. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories to ensure accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly.
- Maintain accurate inventory records within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Implement and refine inventory control procedures to minimize loss and errors.
- Monitor stock levels and report on stock status.
- Collaborate with receiving and shipping departments to ensure proper stock movement.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
- Utilize appropriate PPE and follow all safety guidelines.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
- Assist with other warehouse tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in inventory control or a related warehouse role.
- Proficiency in WMS software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including Lifting up to 30 lbs.
- Understanding of logistics and warehouse operations.
- Commitment to Safety and adherence to PPE requirements.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
